*BREAKING*-CNJFO JOINS IN AMICUS BRIEF SUPPORTING CHALLENGE TO NEW JERSEY CARRY LAW—BRIEF SUBMITTED TO SCOTUS TODAY Sewell, NJ – The Coalition of New Jersey Firearm Owners ("CNJFO") has joined several other parties in filing an amicus brief with the U.S. Supreme Court, asking the Court to accept for review a case that challenges the “need” standard that is at the heart of New Jersey’s restrictive carry law. The case is Rogers v. Grewal. Attorneys general from 23 states, The NRA, and the American Civil Rights Union have also asked the high court for review in a separate brief. The case involves New Jersey resident Thomas R. Rogers, who applied for a handgun permit some two years ago because he carries large amounts of cash in order to service ATM machines. His application was denied because his local police chief felt Rogers did not have a justifiable need to be armed under state law. Along with CNJFO, Mark Cheeseman, John Jillard, Jay Factor, Jeff Muller, George Greco and The Second Amendment Foundation ("SAF") participated in the filing of the brief. On July 27th, 2018, I closed on a house in the Richmond, VIrginia area. My family and I were relocating because I was offered to leave New Jersey by my job. I was excited to escape the oppressive New Jersey taxes and laws, especially the gun laws. Some of the first things I did was to apply for my Concealed Handgun Permit, buy some new magazines that I was previously forbidden from buying, and joined the VCDL (Virginia Citizens Defense League.) Life was good and the Virginia firearm owners had nothing to worry about. Right? May 31, 2019 there was a mass shooting in Virginia Beach and a special session was called for the General Assembly in response. Members of the VCDL (including myself) as well as the gun control supporters packed the Assembly chamber while the politicians debated the need for more gun control. At the time the Virginia General Assembly was barely favored toward the right. The session ended in 90 minutes after the Republicans called for a postponement of voting on any new laws. Crisis averted! We could all sit back and relax...right? Even though Virginia’s governor is a Democrat, we’re safe because the Virginia House and Senate have a Republican majority. November 5, 2019, Election Day. Basking in the glow of the 2A rally from the previous weekend, I headed out to vote. The Republicans lost the majority of both the House and Senate for the first time in 26 years. Wasting no time, Governor Northam announced that he will reintroduce all of the failed gun control bills once the Democrats have taken over the majority. The bills he has at the ready, if passed, would make New Jersey and California seem like the proverbial Wild West that the gun-grabbers are always referencing. So here we are today. Threatened with being back in the same situation that I was in before in regards to firearms. What does one do? Just move? When does it end? Let me tell you, it doesn’t. There are plenty of George Soroses and Michael Bloombergs out there who think they know what’s best for you and are willing to throw money at it until their vision is achieved. Firearm owners of the United States need to change their mindset and behavior. We cannot sit back in the “free” states pointing at those poor suckers in the ones with mag limits. We cannot just move and expect the free state you’re moving to to stay free. And we cannot just accept our fate and turn in our guns or bury them in the yard at every whim of those who oppose the Second Amendment. We need to come together. We need to work as one. You can’t run forever. So what are you going to do? Stop being a spectator and become actively involved in the fight? Or just lay down and accept defeat? I know what I’m going to do. Who’s with me? *BREAKING* REPORTS OF GUN POINTED FROM ROOFTOP AT UNARMED CIVILIANS, POLITICAL OPPONENTS AT DEMOCRAT EVENT IN NEW JERSEY- Blackwood, New Jersey, Blackwire Media-March 1, 2020 House Speaker Nancy Pelosi stumped in South Jersey Saturday on behalf of U.S. House Rep. Donald Norcross in his campaign for re-election. Pelosi was joined by New Jersey Governor, Phil Murphy (D) and Senator Corey Booker (D), all of whom are staunchly against Second Amendment rights, and are known to push for gun control. The Democrats were met by hundreds of peaceful protestors who filled the sidewalk at Camden County College, demonstrating and holding pro-Second Amendment and pro-Trump signs. A civilian on the sidewalk snapped this photo, showing a member of the Democrats’ security force, dangerously pointing a firearm at the crowd of civilians. By any standard, this unequivocally violates basic safety rules and calls into question training, and protocol. William J. Hayden who attended the protest said: “You can clearly see he is pointing the weapon at us. This is why they want complete and total disarmament of the civilian population. And in New Jersey, where the right is diminished, this should be a wake up call to even those that think only the government should have firearms......” Pointing a rifle at one’s political enemies could be aggravated assault at a minimum, but worse, it bears the hallmarks of tyranny. New Jersey is one of the most infringed states in the nation. Less than .01 percent of gun owners in the state have carry permits. The standard for carry permits requires the applicant to prove “justifiable need”. Hardly anyone can meet the standard, even those who have been threatened by criminals, and repeatedly kidnapped. The two current NJ carry cases CNJFO is involved in with SAF & FPC, and ANJRPC were covered. ANJRPC's mag ban case may be headed to SCOTUS(?). An in-depth discussion of the NJ hand gun purchase permitting scheme, the unconstitutional time it takes to get through the system, how an "INSTANT" check takes 10 DAYS at point-of-sale (after permit approval!) PRIOR to actual transfer, and how Carol Bowne was murdered in her driveway while waiting for her gun permit to be approved are all covered in detail. Inacker didn't hold anything back. In fact she exploded with details of how even a kidnap or sexual abuse victim doesn't meet the ultra-strict standard known as NJ's "justifiable need", because you have to prove "urgent necessity" and are told to hire your own security instead of applying for a hand gun carry permit!
